Because of today's medical advances, most people can expect to survive after suffering a critical illness. However, the financial hardship can be devastating. With this affordable voluntary health insurance benefit, you will receive a lump sum benefit upon the occurrence or diagnosis of any covered critical illness. The benefit for major heart surgery is $2,500. Higher benefit amounts are available on request, subject to underwriting. Benefits are not tied to any other insurance and are paid to you in cash and can be used any way you choose. Medical technology now allows someone who would have died from a critical illness only 30 years ago to survive today. This plan helps people who are concerned about how they would survive financially if a critical illness were to strike them or a member of their family. Coverage is portable and can be taken with you if you leave your place of employment or retire. Coverage continues to age 100 or as long as premiums are paid or all the benefits have been paid out.
